Doing some research now and it's not looking good :(

Our honeymoon is booked for 6/10-6/25, however, we are flexible with days since US Air has blackouts 6/24-6/28 and frankly, we are determined to be job-free and flexible on our travel dates by this time. To further cloud matter it looks like their new reward schedule comes out on 1/6(my birthday, lol) and I'm about 99% certain that this falls under "High" which requires 125,000 points/ticket. If we could find the right dates that are "Medium" then it would only be 90,000. On top of that we have to add in $203 for 2 RT tickets from MAD to TFS via RyanAir as US Air doesn't fly to TFS.

Either way, looks like the best bet is to message them and find out what the total cost in miles + fees will be to see if the 200k pts for $2k is worth it(assuming worst case scenario that we don't sell any of the items) as a direct RT flight for 2 from ORD to TFS is about $2300 total.

Hi Clint-
Thanks for the comment. Did the shopping work out for you? If your familiar with Star Alliance, check into using the miles in March with them. You should be able to do so, which means you can go almost anywhere! I have a couple of things brewing and I will be sure to post it as it finalizes. Happy Holidays!

Wow thanks for posting this! Found your blog from Tim's 4HWW blog, now just have to figure out if we can use these miles to fly from ORD to TFS for our honeymoon in June and if it'll be cheaper to "buy" these points than to get the tix from Priceline or elsewhere, that way we can not only save money, but also get a few gifts for others or ourselves such as the Omaha Steaks, some clothes at Macy's, appliances/tools from Sears, etc... basically stuff we wouldn't normally buy if there wasn't an incentive like this :p
