The series “Alive! With Adventure Aaron” had its beginnings through a life-changing event for host Aaron Carotta, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. After a year of learning to reprioritize life and overcome the challenges of a life-threatening disease, Aaron gained a new perspective on life. With the help of his mentor Tim Ferriss, Aaron began a blog in which he explored the philosophy of living life to its fullest extent. He discovered a subculture of travelers known as “Travel Hackers” who use their travel hacking skills to overcome tight budgets and short vacation times, which prevents most people from traveling. Aaron now continues to travel around the world, face his biggest fears and blog about it on AdventureAaron.com.

The series shows an everyday person experiencing the cultures and histories of every nation while introducing the tips of travel hackers. It’s proof that anyone can travel and experience life to the fullest without getting the wake-up call Aaron did. He allows you to see how unconventional travel will lead to unforgettable memories show the meaning of the word, alive.

In Season 1, Aaron interviews his mentor, best-selling author Tim Ferriss, Professional Hobo and travel author Nora Dunn, Rolph Potts (Author of Vagabonding), The Frugal Travel Guy, and Chris Guillebeau.

From swimming with the great whites, to bungee jumping off the tallest bridge in the world, it’s all a first for Aaron. Aaron tries the world’s highest commercial drop zone for skydiving, learning to catch and kill a chicken with a local tribe, walking the line with the cheetah, flashpacking thru Morocco, learning to charm a cobra with the Berber tribe, riding bicycles through Amsterdam, negotiating in the bizarre market of Marrakesh, walking on New Zealand’s most active volcano, getting certified to dive with Padi and swim outside the cage with tiger sharks, uncovering the red light district and cafes in Amsterdam, and Heli-Sleding on a class 5 rapid. He is living proof that you don’t need to be an expert to experience adventure. All you need is a little bit of travel hacking knowledge and a thankful perspective on life.
